Travel Faro
For many years the Algarve has been a popular destination for tourists from across the world. The lively capital of the Algarve, Faro, is a modern lively city with a number of shopping precincts and lovely restaurants. Although Faro is relatively modern there are a number of sightseeing opportunities for visitors in the city's old town.
Throughout Faro many of the locals speak English which can save any traveller the embarrassment of attempting to talk Portuguese. If you're looking at hiring a car whilst in Faro you must drive carefully as Portugal is renowned for having a poor road safety record. Luckily for most travellers to Faro the main tourist sites and hotels are located centrally meaning that they can all be accessed without the need for public transport. For travellers looking to travel further afield there are a number of excellent regional railway services running at regular intervals throughout the day. Also ferry services run regularly to many of the local beaches which are basically huge sandbanks. Although the effort of getting on a ferry to go to the beach is more time consuming than most people would like, it will be worth it when you get there as they are covered in golden sand and stretch for miles. Travel round Faro is varied but you'll never find that you can't get where you want to go. If you're looking to stay in the local area then you will be fine with the public services but for those of you looking to explore further regions of Portugal then hiring a car may well be worthwhile.
Holiday car hire is always an option when travelling abroad however you must consider the differences in driving abroad. Car hire in Faro would mean driving on the right hand side of the road which may be complicated for some drivers but if you can get the hang of it cheap car hire in Faro can make your trip a lot more enjoyable.
